Is there a free version?
Yes. The free demo lets you try every feature with 1 box (up to 5 items) and 1 sub-box (up to 3 items). No credit card needed.
What do the plans cost?
Billed yearly, Starter is $1.58/month ($19/year) for up to 5 boxes with 10 AI photo scans a month; Plus is $4.08/month ($49/year) for up to 49 boxes with unlimited AI scans (whole boxes too), the insurance report, Excel and CSV export, sharing and custom fields; and Unlimited is $8.25/month ($99/year) for unlimited boxes plus Pax, the AI assistant. Monthly billing is also available at $9.50, $24.50 and $49.50 a month. Move up a plan or cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts get 72 hours free on any paid plan. Your card is taken at checkout and charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel in the app before then. We email you a reminder before it ends.
Why not just write on the box or keep a spreadsheet?
You can, but a marker only fits a few words, and a spreadsheet has no photos and doesn’t open when you scan a box. BoxTrack keeps a photo of each thing, opens a box’s list when you scan its QR label, and finds which box anything is in. On Plus and Unlimited you can still export everything to Excel or CSV.
Can I track how much each box weighs?
Yes, on every plan. Turn on Weight with one tap, set your mover’s or airline’s limit, and BoxTrack shows the total weight of every box and warns you when one is over. You can also add owner, status, destination room or fragile; on Plus and Unlimited you can make your own fields too. They all appear in your exports.
Do I need to install an app?
No. BoxTrack runs in your phone’s browser: open box-track.com and sign in. On iPhone, tap Share → Add to Home Screen to keep it one tap away.
What’s the difference between used and replacement value?
Used value is what an item is worth now, which is what customs usually asks for. Replacement value is what it would cost to buy new, which is what insurers use. BoxTrack tracks both, so one inventory works for either.
What if the movers lose or break something?
You’ll be able to show what was in it. Snap each thing as you pack, with what it’s worth. On moving day, scan each box’s QR label as it comes off the truck, and any box that didn’t arrive stays on the list. For a missing or broken box you have every item in it, with its photo, the date you added it and its value. BoxTrack makes a PDF report of it for your claim: free on your first box, then on Plus and Unlimited. Filing the claim is still yours to do.
Can BoxTrack make my customs list?
Yes. BoxTrack lists every item box by box, with its value. On Plus and Unlimited you can export the list to Excel or CSV, then copy it onto the form customs asks for (like Canada’s BSF186) or send it to your mover. Tag things Ship and the export can include only those. BoxTrack doesn’t fill in or file official forms, and doesn’t translate.
Can I use BoxTrack for a home inventory?
Yes. Make a box for each room, closet or storage bin, then snap each thing in it. BoxTrack keeps its photo, the date you added it and what it’s worth, used and new. It makes a PDF report with every photo and value that you can send your insurer: free on your first box, then on Plus and Unlimited. BoxTrack gives you the list; filing a claim is still yours to do.
Can I use BoxTrack for a storage unit?
Yes. Make a box in BoxTrack for each box or bin in the unit, snap each thing as it goes in, and note where the box sits (back wall, top shelf). Print its QR label on standard sticker sheets; at the unit, scan a label with your phone’s camera to open that box’s list. Before you drive over, search for the thing to see which box it’s in and where it sits. On Plus and Unlimited you can share the boxes with family.
Can BoxTrack help me sell things on Facebook Marketplace?
Yes, on every plan. Tag something Sell and BoxTrack writes its listing from what it already knows: the name, your price (or what it’s worth used) and a description. On your phone, BoxTrack saves the photo and opens a new Marketplace listing, with the words ready to paste in. You check each listing and tap Publish yourself.
Can my family or movers see my boxes?
Only if you share them. On Plus and Unlimited you can share a single box or your whole inventory, and choose view-only or edit access for each person.
