Find My Stuff Alternative: BoxTrack vs Find my stuff: Home inventory
Find my stuff is a popular Android home inventory app that works offline. BoxTrack runs on any phone or computer, with photo AI and QR box labels. Here's who each is for.

if everyone in your house uses Android, you want an app that works fully offline, and you're happy to type items in yourself.
if your household mixes iPhone and Android, you want photos to fill in names and values for you, or you want QR labels on boxes that open on any phone.
At a glance
We picked these rows and we make BoxTrack, so read it with that in mind. Every fact links to its source below.
Where Find my stuff is stronger
It's a real Android app that works with no signal at all, its free version covers a whole home with photos and an Excel export, and it has been on Google Play long enough to build a large following. If you're an Android household and like entering things yourself, it's a strong, low-cost choice.
Where BoxTrack is stronger
Less typing and more devices. The photo AI fills in most of each item for you, it works the same on iPhone, Android and a computer, a family can share the same boxes, and the QR labels open in anyone's camera, even someone without the app. For insurance, the PDF report is ready to send.
Things to know about BoxTrack
It's new, and it's a web app with no app-store download. Your inventory is stored online, not only on your phone, so adding things needs a connection; with no signal you can only look at boxes already loaded. It imports a list from Excel or CSV on a paid plan. The free plan is 1 box with up to 5 items; a whole home needs a paid plan, with a 72-hour free trial.

Why this comparison+
Find my stuff: Home inventory, by Miquel Martinez, is one of the most downloaded home inventory apps on Google Play. It's an Android app that keeps your list on your phone, works without a connection, and does a lot on its free version. BoxTrack is a different kind of app: it runs in any phone's or computer's browser and uses photo AI to fill in items for you. We make BoxTrack, so read this with that in mind.
Find my stuff: Home inventory+
You start with a place, like a bedroom or the garage, then add containers inside it (and containers inside those), then the things in each. Its Google Play listing says the free version includes photos, quantities, prices, expiry, warranty and loan dates, an Excel export with your photos, and barcode and QR scanning. It works fully offline; you only need a connection to back up to Google Drive.
The paid version adds an NFC scanner (tap a tag on a box to find it), saved advanced searches, and more photos per item. We found it on Google Play only. We didn't find an iPhone version, sharing with another person, or AI that fills in items from a photo.
BoxTrack+
BoxTrack opens in the browser on an iPhone, an Android phone or a computer, with nothing to install (add it to your home screen and it opens like an app). Make a box for each room, bin or moving box and snap what's in it. AI fills in names, quantities and replacement values, and one photo of an open box can list everything in it. You can scan barcodes too.
Each box gets a QR label on standard sticker sheets, and any phone's camera opens that box's list. Search "drill" and BoxTrack tells you which box it's in. Paid plans add sharing with family, a PDF claim report with every photo and value, Excel and CSV export, and moving tools like box weights and Ship, Sell, Store, Donate or Toss tags.
Containers vs boxes+
Both let you put containers inside containers. Find my stuff starts from places in your home (room, cupboard, shelf), which suits a tidy home where things stay put. BoxTrack starts from boxes, with a QR label on the outside of each one, which suits things that get packed, moved or stored.
