Best home inventory app for Android
Many of the newest home inventory apps are iPhone only. Here are the ones that work on Android, which are still being updated, and which also work with an iPhone in the same house.

On Android, the free NAIC Home Inventory app is the place to start, and HomeZada and Itemtopia are the fuller options with photo AI and insurance reports. Memento Database suits people who want to design their own inventory. For QR labels on bins, Scanlily works on Android. BoxTrack runs in Chrome or any Android browser, so there's nothing to install.

The details
Why this comparison+
We make BoxTrack. One thing first that most "best app" lists don't mention.
Android has fewer choices than iPhone+
A lot of the newest home inventory apps are iPhone only, as far as we could find: SnapFind, Asset Vault, BoxyID, Codenize, Itemlist, Under My Roof and Nest Egg among them. So an Android user reading an iPhone-heavy roundup can end up with a shortlist of apps they can't install. Everything below has an Android app or runs in an Android browser.
It's also worth checking when an Android app was last updated. Magic Home Inventory, a free Android app with deep categories and room and container nesting, was last updated in August 2023, as far as we could find. It may still work for you, but we wouldn't start a whole-house inventory in it.
The picks+
NAIC Home Inventory: best free Android app. From the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, free on Google Play, with an update dated September 2026 on one Play listing. Group things by room or category, scan barcodes, export your list. Reviews mention glitches, failed exports on large inventories and trouble adding photos. Export a copy as you go.
HomeZada: best for Android homeowners who want the whole house. Android, iPhone and the web. The company says its AI picks out items in photos and video. It makes PDF reports and has a free plan that includes home inventory, alongside maintenance and project tracking. Some reviews mention logins and crashes.
Itemtopia: best for a house with Android, iPhone and Windows. It runs on Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows and the web, with AI image recognition added in 2026, barcode and QR scanning, and warranty reminders. Insurance reports and QR labels are on its paid plan.
Memento Database: best if you'd rather build your own. A database app for Android and iPhone, with inventory templates, barcode scanning, offline use and sync. You shape the fields yourself. Free to use with limits.
Scanlily: best for QR bin labels on Android. Android, iPhone and the web. Its QR stickers open in any phone's camera, and AI builds an inventory from a video you narrate as you walk around.
BoxTrack: best if you want a browser app that works on any phone. Open box-track.com in Chrome, sign in, and add it to your home screen from the browser menu. Snap a thing, or a whole shelf, and AI fills in names, quantities and values. It makes a PDF report with every photo, exports to Excel, and prints QR labels for boxes and bins. Your list is online, so the iPhone in the next room sees the same boxes when you share them. Weak spots: it's new, it's not on Google Play, it can't import from other apps, and the free plan is 1 box with up to 5 items. A whole home needs a paid plan, with a 72-hour free trial.
How to choose+
- Mixed phones at home? Pick an app on both, or in the browser: NAIC, HomeZada, Itemtopia, Scanlily or BoxTrack.
- Check the last update on Google Play before you put a whole house into an app.
- Export a copy to Google Drive or your computer now and then, whichever app you use.
Questions+
Is there a good home inventory app for Android?
Yes, though fewer than on iPhone. NAIC is free, HomeZada and Itemtopia have photo AI and reports, and BoxTrack runs in any Android browser.
Can my family use the same inventory on Android and iPhone?
Yes, with an app on both or one that runs in the browser. In BoxTrack you share a box or your whole inventory on Plus and Unlimited, view-only or editable, and changes show up on every phone straight away.
Do I need Google Play to use BoxTrack?
No. BoxTrack is a web app. Open box-track.com in your browser and sign in. Adding it to your home screen keeps it one tap away.
