BoxTrack vs SnapFind for storage bins with AI and QR labels
SnapFind is a new iPhone app that tags what's in a photo of a bin and links it to a QR label, which is very close to what BoxTrack does. Here's an honest look at where they differ.

if you have an iPhone, want a native app from the App Store, and your goal is organizing storage bins at home.
if anyone involved uses Android or a computer, you're moving rather than only storing, or you want an insurance report with photos and values.

Things to know about BoxTrack
It's new, it's a web app (on iPhone you add it to your home screen), and it can't import a SnapFind CSV or any other app's export. The free plan is 1 box with up to 5 items, and a garage or a move needs a paid plan, with a 72-hour free trial.

Why this comparison+
Of all the apps we've compared, SnapFind is one of the closest to BoxTrack. You photograph a bin, AI picks out what's in it, and a QR label on the bin takes you back to the list. We make BoxTrack, so take this as a maker's view, but we've tried to be straight about it: if you're on an iPhone and only organizing bins, SnapFind may suit you fine.
SnapFind+
SnapFind: Organize with AI (also listed as SnapFind: Home Inventory) is made by MEGAROOSTER LLC for households organizing storage bins. It runs on iPhone. According to its App Store listing, you take a photo of a bin and its AI tags and sorts the items in it, and you can make and print QR labels for any container. It exports a CSV that includes item values, and the listing suggests that CSV for insurance claims. It's free, with in-app purchases.
Barcode scanning and a PDF report were not found.
BoxTrack+
BoxTrack works the same basic way, in the browser instead of an app. Make a box for a bin, photograph it open, and on Plus and Unlimited the whole-box scan lists every item with names, quantities and replacement values, ready to add in one tap. Starter includes 10 AI photo scans a month, one item at a time. You can also scan barcodes.
Labels print on standard sticker sheets, color-coded, and any phone camera opens the box's list, so nobody needs to install anything to check a bin. Boxes can sit inside boxes. You can note where each box sits and search for anything to find which box it's in.
Where it goes further than a bin organizer:
- Insurance: used and replacement values, serial numbers and purchase dates, and on Plus and Unlimited, a PDF claim report with every date-stamped photo and value.
- Moving: box weights against your mover's or airline's limit, a moving-day check-in that shows which boxes haven't come off the truck, and Ship, Sell, Store, Donate or Toss tags.
- Sharing: on Plus and Unlimited, share one box or everything with family or movers, view-only or editable.
How to choose between two similar apps+
Since the core idea is the same, decide on the edges:
- Who else needs to see the bins? If a partner, a roommate or your movers use Android or a laptop, a browser app is easier to share.
- Is a move coming? BoxTrack's weights and check-in are for that. SnapFind's listing is about organizing.
- Do you want an App Store app? If installing from the App Store matters to you, SnapFind has it and BoxTrack doesn't.
Try each with one bin. Whichever list you'd actually trust a week later is the one to keep.
