Things to know about BoxTrack
It's new, and it's a web app with no App Store download. It can't import a list from Bevel or any other app. The free plan is 1 box with up to 5 items, and a whole home needs a paid plan, with a 72-hour free trial.

Why this comparison+
Bevel and BoxTrack have more in common than most apps on these pages: both run in the browser, and both use AI to list what's in your photos. They were built for different moments, though. We make BoxTrack. Here's an honest comparison.
Bevel+
Bevel (bevelmade.com) was co-founded by Adam Freed after the 2025 Los Angeles fires, for homeowners and disaster survivors making insurance claims. You sign up on the web. AI lists the items in your photos or videos and estimates their values, and you can download the list as an Excel spreadsheet built for insurance. Its site says its tools are free for disaster survivors, and its sign-up page says "get started for free". A 2026 comparison describes it as a paid subscription, so sources differ; check Bevel's site for what applies to you.
One thing worth reading before you rely on any AI values: when NerdWallet tried Bevel, it found the values and labels were sometimes wrong. That's true of AI estimates generally, BoxTrack's included. Check each value before you send a list to an insurer.
iPhone and Android apps, barcode scanning, a PDF report and box labels were not found.
BoxTrack+
BoxTrack also runs in the browser on any phone or computer. You make a box for each room, closet or bin and snap what's in it. AI fills in names, quantities and replacement values, and a photo of a whole open box lists every item in it. You can also scan barcodes, and add serial numbers and purchase dates.
Each item keeps its photo and the date you added it, with used and replacement values. On Plus and Unlimited you can make a PDF claim report with every item's date-stamped photo and value, and export to Excel or CSV. BoxTrack gives you the list; filing the claim is still yours to do.
Where it goes beyond an insurance list: QR labels for boxes and bins, boxes inside boxes, box weights, a moving-day check-in, and Ship, Sell, Store, Donate or Toss tags for a move.
Before or after+
The most useful difference is timing. Bevel is designed for the hard case: the house is gone and you're working from whatever photos and videos survived on your phone or in the cloud. If that's where you are, its focus on claims is what you need, and its site says survivors can use it for free.
BoxTrack is built for doing it ahead of time, while you can still open every closet. A date-stamped photo of each thing, taken now, is easier to rely on later than spotting it in the background of an old video. It's also built for life between disasters: the same inventory tells you which bin the winter coats are in.
